7th Annual Walk/Run for Kids' Sake

Join Lynne Brick On Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Oregon Ridge Park for the 7th Annual Walk/Run for Kids' Sake. As Master of Ceremonies, Lynne will lead walkers and runners in warm-up exercises prior to the 9am start time. Funds raised through the Walk/Run will provide support to a wide array of Villa Maria programs such as residential treatment for children, ages 6 to 14, special education schools, after-school and community-based programs, therapeutic mentoring, and outpatient counseling for children, adults and families. Participants from Lynne Brick's Owings Mills Tread and Tone class ran in the Pikesville 5K. Everyone had a great race - some completed their first 5k ever and others beat their personal best time. Congratulations to everyone!

VICTORY IN MARYLAND!!!


Governor O' Malley's budget plan passed the Legislature at 2:30 this morning without an expansion of the sales tax to health club dues. The Governor had called the special session three weeks ago in an effort to resolve a $1.7 billion budget shortfall. The budget passed with $1.3 billion in tax increases but without a healthy lifestyle tax.

Thank you to all of you who participated in the Maryland Coalition, Lobbyist Michael Gisriel and all of the clubs and members that were active in fighting the tax!

Brick Bodies and Lynne Brick's would like to thank all our members for supporting us in our effort to fight a tax on healthy living by signing our petitions and sending letters to our Representatives.

The Staff was rewarded for hitting their 3rd quarter Goal of Increasing Group Exercise attendance. The goal for the company was to increase the attendance by 10% in all class in all clubs.

July 19 – Positive Changes Weight Loss Reception Banquet at Christopher Daniel

Brick Bodies/Lynne Brick's hosted a reception banquet for all the participants of the Positive Changes 6 Week Weight Loss Program. The initial run of the program was a huge success with 40 contestants losing over 375 lbs and beginning a new journey to a healthy lifestyle. The night was capped by Lynne Brick awarding each winner their check along with a keep sake Testimonial of themselves.

Each quarter the Brick Bodies/ Lynne Brick's team comes up with a theme for the new quarter. For the third quarter, we will be focusing on increasing the group exercise attendance in all of our classes in all of our clubs.

Brick Bodies Now Operates Brick Bodies at Green Spring Station

Foxleigh Enterprises announced that it has secured Brick Bodies Fitness Services, Inc. to operate the Brick Bodies at Green Spring Station, adjacent to the Green Spring Racquet Club on Falls Road in Lutherville. Foxleigh Enterprises is the contract purchaser of the Green Spring Racquet Club and the Brick Bodies at Green Spring Station from Willie and Loretta Hirshfeld. Foxleigh Enterprises operates the Green Spring Racquet Club.

"We are very excited about the opportunity to acquire the Brick Bodies at Green Spring Station. It was where Victor and I got started in the fitness industry in 1982. We are happy to be coming home", said Lynne Brick, co-owner of Brick Bodies, with her husband, Victor.

"Willie and Loretta Hirshfeld and their daughter, Jill, have run a terrific operation at Green Spring for quite some time, both on the tennis side and the fitness side. We are committed to continuing that high level of personal service" added Victor Brick.

Brick Bodies is completely upgrading the facility, renovating the interior and replacing all the existing equipment with state-of-the-art treadmills, cross trainers, bikes, pin-loaded equipment, Free Motion cable equipment and free weights. Each piece of cardio equipment will have it's own TV viewing screen. Brick Bodies now offers expanded hours and discounted memberships for Green Spring Tennis Members. Brick Bodies also operates the child care service for both the racquet club and the fitness center.

Victor and Lynne Brick are international fitness consultants. Lynne, a former University of Maryland Shock Trauma Nurse, was named Instructor of the Year by IDEA, The Association for Fitness Professional. She is a member of the board of IHRSA, the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclubs Association and is a three-time winner of the Maryland Top 100 Women Award. She has appeared in a dozen exercise videos and is the technical advisor for the new BodyVive program for baby boomers, developed by Les Mills International, a New Zealand based company that is the leading provider of choreographed group exercise programs in the world. Victor is a former IDEA Business Person of the Year and has presented seminars and workshops on fitness in 25 countries around the world.

Foxleigh Enterprises is a development company specializing in commercial building. They have developed Green Spring Station as well as several residential communities nearby. Foxleigh principals are Herb Fredeking and Tom Peddy, whose business dates back to 1975. The Peddy family has owned property at the Green Spring Station location since 1936.
