If you remember, my last fit tip was brought to you from Copenhagen, Denmark. Obviously, Lynne and I travel a lot, both for pleasure and for business, speaking at conventions and attending fitness business functions. One of the ways we keep our energy up when we travel is to make sure to get out in the sun wherever we go.
The sun is the greatest source of energy in the world. Sunlight will improve your mood and increase your energy. In addition, sunlight allows your body to produce Vitamin D, which not only is an anti-oxidant but also increases energy.
Vitamin-D deficiency is the fast growing vitamin deficiency in America. Even in the summer months when the ultra-violet rays of the sun are strongest, many people use such strong sun screen that almost no ultra-violet rays get through to the skin. Ultra-violet rays are necessary for the production of Vitamin-D.
It is a good practice to get at least 10 minutes of sunlight a day, every day, even in the fall and winter. Although in most places north of Florida or Georgia the rays of the sun are not strong enough to help with Vitamin-D production after the late fall and into the winter, sunlight will still help improve your mood and raise your energy level.
We will talk about how to get the Vitamin-D you need during the late fall and early winter in our next fit tip. Don't forget to check out the video to see if I found a rainbow, leprechaun or pot of gold. Click here to view the video.
