May 2007 - IHRSA 2007 Victor and Lynne Brick pictured with ABC newsman Sam Donaldson, at the IHRSA (International Racquet and Sportsclubs Association) Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C. The Summit is held annually as an effort by IHRSA to gain the support of Senators and Congressmen/women to enact positive legislation supporting healthy lifestyles. Lynne and Victor met with Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), Congressman Dutch Ruppersburger (D-MD), Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD), and Conressman Wayne Gilchrest (D-MD), to enlist their support for the WHIP Act (Workforce Health Improvement Act, H.R. 1748 and S.1038) which would ensure the wellness benefits offered by companies to employees towards membership in off-site fitness facilities and health clubs is not taxed as income to the employees.
